　　1、說明書的文體特征與翻譯目標從遣詞造句方面來看，說明書頻繁使用祈使句、無人稱句，十分講究邏輯性。從語氣上看，說明書的語氣通常較為正式，用語嚴謹規(guī)范、客觀公允。從修辭角度來說，說明書文風一般比較質(zhì)樸，避免鋪敘婉曲，特別是很少使用不必要的修辭格。鑒于說明書的語言特點和翻譯目標，我們以為好的說明書譯文不僅要準確、客觀，還必須保證能為譯語讀者所接受并激發(fā)他們的購買行為。

　　2、“忠實、準確”原則說明書是溝通廠家與消費者的橋梁和紐帶。企業(yè)若想在激烈的國際競爭中站穩(wěn)腳跟，將產(chǎn)品成功地打入國際市場，譯文必須準確、真實。倘若譯文“失真”或錯誤百出，不僅會給消費者留下極壞的印象，而且會直接影響到產(chǎn)品的形象與銷售。更為嚴重的是，那些劣質(zhì)的譯文還可能影響到正常的生產(chǎn)秩序，甚至危及消費者的生命與財產(chǎn)安全。要做到譯文“忠實”、“準確”，首先要在遣詞造句方面加以注意。說明書的語言一般大都簡潔淺顯、明白曉暢，譯者在處理其中的語詞時并無多大困難。不過，這并不意味著說明書的翻譯就高枕無憂。

　　3、“可讀性”原則，產(chǎn)品說明書有時肩負著比廣告更重要的使命，說明書離消費者更近，其表述對消費者購買產(chǎn)品與否會有更為直接地影響。譯者在翻譯前，必須首先對說明書原文中所包含的信息進行分析，尤其是要剖析各類信息的可傳達度和讀者可能的接受反應情況，然后再采取相應的翻譯方法和策略，以確保譯文的可讀性。

　　3. "Readability" principle: sometimes the product manual shoulders a more important mission than the advertisement, and it is closer to the consumer.
