Korean people attach great importance to etiquette cultivation in communication. If translation companies want to do a good job in Korean translation projects, they need to understand Korean culture first. What etiquette do they need to know to do Korean translation?

  1、 Social etiquette

In terms of social etiquette, Korean people generally do not use handshake as the etiquette of meeting. Use both hands when shaking hands, or use the right hand alone. When the younger generation, subordinates shake hands with the elders and superiors, and the latter stretches out his hand, the former must shake hands with his right hand first, and then put his left hand lightly on the right hand of the latter.

In South Korea, women and children generally do not shake hands with men, nodding or bowing as a common etiquette. In terms of address, we often use honorifics and honorifics, and seldom address each other's name directly. If the other side has status and title in society, Korean people will use it more than once.

  2、 Dress etiquette

In social occasions, most Koreans can speak English, and those who speak Japanese don't feel good about it. In South Korea, dressing is not too avant-garde, it is solemn and conservative. Generally, the upper part of a man's body is covered with a jacket, while the lower part of a man's body is covered with wide long pants. Generally, the upper part of a woman's body is covered with a short jacket and the lower part is covered with a chest length skirt.

  3、 Catering etiquette

Korean people like spicy and sour food in general. The main food is rice and cold noodles. Dishes include pickles, roast beef, roast dog meat, ginseng chicken and so on. Generally speaking, Korean cuisine is not too many, and most of them are relatively light. Generally speaking, men in South Korea have a good amount of alcohol, and they will not refuse to make wine, sake or beer, while women will not drink more. On weekdays, most Koreans drink tea and coffee. However, Korean people usually do not drink porridge, do not like to drink clear soup. Korean people generally do not like to eat oil, greasy, sweet things. As for duck, mutton and fat pork, as for bear paw and tiger meat. When eating, chopsticks are usually used. For environmental protection, Korean will provide you with iron tableware. When eating with elders, do not move chopsticks first, and do not point at others with chopsticks. After eating, place chopsticks neatly on the table top. When eating, don't talk. When eating, the noise in the mouth is too loud, which is also very humiliating. When entertaining in Korean's home, the guests and the host usually sit around a short legged square table. Sit cross legged on the floor. In this case, it is not allowed to touch your feet with your hands, extend your legs, or spread your legs apart.

In addition, Koreans also have some taboos, such as "4" and "13", so the number of many buildings is strictly prohibited to appear "4"; hospitals and the military do not use "4" at all. When Korean people drink tea or alcohol, the host always uses 1, 3, 5, 7 number units to toast, serve and arrange dishes, and try to avoid stopping the cup with even numbers. For the same reason of pronunciation and death, Korean people should not use similar "private", "teacher" and "affair" at all.
